
Medway Marathon Weekend
A smaller than usual Tideway group took part, with our Hawk 20 Tanni joining Simon Whiteley’s own Hawk for a cruise into the Medway backwaters on Saturday in a good sailing breeze, and lighter winds on Sunday for the 26 mile race down to the mouth of the Medway and back.

Noirin O’Sullivan has moved to Ireland to learn carpentry. She has been a mainstay of our Sunday sailing for a number of years, regularly turning out as safety boat driver to allow the rest of us to sail. She was particularly good with our younger sailors, encouraging the doubtful and keeping the enthusiastic safe. She will be much missed although we hope to see her from time to time. Hello everyone and welcome to our September Newsletter. We have had a busy season so far with increased participation from existing sailors coming more frequently and with new sailors joining us, some as their first taste of sailing. We have continued Dock sailing on Wednesdays, Thursday and Sundays plus the occasional Friday, which together with our Regattas, River Trips, Medway marathon and competition sailing is providing lots of opportunities for members and volunteers to
